Almost all of our food is homemade/handmade, authentic British Celtic recipes. Our grocery stores are the same place where anybody else would buy their food, however…
You can’t go to the store and buy shepherd’s pie, nor can you go to the store and buy Scotch eggs. You can’t go to the store and buy steak and mushrooms. I mean, you can get fish and chips, but it’s frozen pre breaded drop in the fryer. Frozen Food is definitely not what we serve at the Rampant Lion Pub. Our goal is to create as authentic an experience as possible, that all starts with authentic British Celtic recipes
Our beer cheese is made with New Castle Brown Ale, our beer batter breading for our famous Fish and Chips is made from scratch generally made with Bass Ale from England. So it’s, it’s as authentic and fresh as it can be.
Our close family friend, David Stead shared his father’s recipe for Shepherds Pie, David’s dad was a cook at King’s College in Cambridge England when Prince Charles was a student there. David Stead’s dad made shepherd’s pie, for the man who is now Prince of England.
